Le Tour 2015 Part 2: La Grand Boucle

Another year and another challenge up the 21 hairpins of Alpe d'Huez.  This year much like the last time I was here to watch, has a British rider as the favourite to win this queen stage: Chris Froome.  We decided to wait somewhere just downhill of Dutch corner near the 7th hairpin.

I managed to get a few pics of Nairo Quintana in hot pursuit of the breakaway threatening to win the stage.

The Sky team was in hot pursuit, Quintana was putting in a big effort and at the end of the day managed to get some time in on them.

Last year's defending champion was back to gain some dignity but had no real chance.

Contador didn't really have it in this year, after the Giro he seemed to underperform due to fatigue I would guess.   Anyway thanks for reading and stay tuned for the last part of my visit to the Alps.
